As Democratic Majority leader in the Oregon House, Jennifer helped push through historic changes to improve the lives of all Oregonians.

Under Jennifer Williamson’s leadership, Oregon passed the most progressive paid family leave law in the nation.

 Jennifer stood up to the NRA and wrote the law that took guns out of the hands of convicted domestic abusers and stalkers.

While other states have been trying to ban abortion, Williamson worked to guarantee access to birth control and reproductive healthcare for all Oregon women.

Jennifer Williamson helped push through record investments in our public schools.

Williamson helped pass a landmark pay equity law and minimum wage increases to put more money in the paychecks of working people.

Jennifer Williamson also made sure the Oregon House finally took action on climate change.

Jennifer got her start in politics as a college student fighting for affordable tuition. After working as an attorney in private practice, Jennifer advocated for Portland State University and then worked for Oregon’s Superintendent of Public Instruction.

Jennifer Williamson was first elected State Representative from House District 36 in 2012 and currently serves as Chair of the House Judiciary Committee.

 She attended the University of Oregon and received her law degree from Willamette University. She is a fourth generation Oregonian and grew up with her five brothers and sisters on a farm in Washington County. She and her husband Paul Loving live in Portland.
